We talked about this engagement for quite a while and little did I know that he was making secret trips to see Rick to talk about my ring the entire time. We would spend days and days looking at rings online and ring shopping in stores but he was never satisfied with what we found. All I know is that the poor guy was stressed!!
Every time we were alone I would think “this is it… he’s going to ask”… but it didn’t happen. On February 12th, we had an early Valentines Day dinner at Spindletop in Houston since we would have our kids on Valentines Day. At dinner, every time he got up or shifted in his seat, my heart would jump… but it didn’t happen. Needless to say, our ride home was a bit quiet and I thought to myself “he’s never going to ask… we’re just going to talk about this for months and months on end”. We got home and when I walked through the door, I was completely surprised! I walked in to a huge lit archway in my living room, an isle runner covered in flower petals and a table set up with roses, wine, and chocolate (all of which he had his family come set up while we were gone). We sat down and he read me the sweetest letter he had written (and framed). He was so nervous that he was shaking and my heart was beating out of my chest trying to fight back tears. It was absolutely perfect! He got down on one knee and when he pulled out my ring, I was in awww… it was shining like crazy under the lights!!! He proposed and of course I said YES!
I’m so happy to have a ring that is one of a kind and I get compliments on it all the time. You guys created the exact ring I had envisioned and I love it!
