With over five hundred guests and a resplendent backyard ballroom reception, Nick and Kristin’s nuptials epitomized the adage that “everything is bigger in Texas.” Reminiscent of the wedding in The Great Gatsby, the couple’s ceremony was aptly dubbed by a fortunate guest as a “Royal Texas Wedding.”
The nuptials and reception, in all their magnificent splendor, were the culmination of over a year of meticulous preparation. Upon the altar of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, and in the presence of their loving families, Nick and Kristin became blissfully betrothed in December of 2012. Immediately following the proposal, the groom’s family hosted a surprise engagement party. Now it was time for the real planning to begin!
When the couple arrived in Houston just two days prior to their wedding date, they were unimpressed by the wedding bands they had selected from another company. Keenly aware of the very limited time he had to solve this problem, Nick quickly called Uptown Diamond’s Rick Antona for a solution. Rick was able to rebuild the pieces with his signature style and sophistication, ensuring that the couple would be proud to place these signs of commitment upon one another’s fingers.
According to Kristin, “Not only were they quick to help, they also suggested ideas that made our bands even more beautiful. Without a doubt they saved the day! We got them in time, and my band especially was more than I could ask for. It is unique and definitely a sparkler! Thank you, Uptown Diamond!”
With the rings fixed in the nick of time, the couple was able to enjoy their wedding day to the fullest. “Saturday went by so fast,” Nick noted, “and after a year of planning it finally came down to the moment where I got to see Kristin walk down the aisle. No words can describe that moment when the doors opened.”
Following the ceremony, the groom’s family transformed their backyard into a magical ballroom. As the couple proceeded through the tunnel full of Christmas trees into his parents’ home, Nick and Kristin were shocked at the transformation. Said Nick, “I couldn’t be more blessed with such wonderful parents and all the unconditional support they showed throughout the past year. “
The reception was gloriously grand – the flowers, band, decorations, cakes – and, of course, 550 of Nick and Kristin’s closest friends dancing the night away to the band Emerald City. Full of amazing food and wonderful friends, the reception was certainly an event to remember. “I have never seen so many people in one place having that much fun,” Nick commented. “I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to celebrate our wedding.” As any former bride or groom can attest, time flies when you’re having fun!
Uptown Diamond wishes Nick and Kristin a lifetime of happiness!
