It was Saturday September 24th, 1 day away from our 5 year anniversary…so I definitely wasn’t expecting a proposal, especially since it wasn’t our true anniversary day. Josh had talked about going to my parents and going out on for a boat ride because it was a nice day and we had no plans. I called my parents and they said let’s go for a boat ride to go eat dinner at Sharky’s (a restaurant on the lake). Little did I know, they had already talked to josh and had the whole plan in place.
The night could not be more perfect. The sun was setting and the weather was just right. The boat ride was about 20 minutes long, and I was sitting in the front all by myself while my parents, Josh and his mom were in the back of the boat. As we approach Sharkys, my dad said we were going to go up to the bridge and turn around. I was oblivious to it all. As we get closer to the bridge, I see my brother and his wife holding a banner that reads “Tiffany, will you marry me?” I quickly turned around and said “what the f@#$ is that!?” and Josh was behind me on one knee. I had instant tears and immediately said “YES!!”. It was such a surprise!!
After this, we started heading back home and I said “where are we going, we’re supposed to go eat”…. I was starving! My dad told me that it was all a lie just to get me over to the bridge, and that the boat dock at Sharky’s had been washed away from the last storm. We finally made it home, and we all went out after to celebrate the best night of my life!
