UH Golf Team Championship November 22, 2013 By Uptown Diamond University of Houston’s Golf Program is a dynasty unparalleled in all of college sports. Beginning in 1956, Houston dominated the college golf world, winning 12 of the next 15 NCAA national championships. The Cougars have won 16 titles, and incredibly, finished second four times and third four more times. A Cougar has won the individual national championship eight times, which only trails Yale (13). The Cougars won five straight conference titles from 1997-2001, and their legacy continued with their sixth title won in April. Uptown Diamond is proud to provide this talented team with a custom designed championship ring commemorating their hard work and the legacy in which they are now intertwined. According to Jonathan Dismuke, director of golf at the University of Houston, the guys love their rings! “I’m fortunate enough to have championship rings from the 2002 SEC Golf Championship and the 2009 NCAA Golf Championship,” Dismuke said. “However, the ring that Uptown Diamond designed and built for our 2013 conference championship team is my favorite.” The details of UH’s Golf Legacy were taken from the University’s Golf Team Brochure.
